I work for Private Security Service Company “Guard”. It is a limited liability company. It was founded in 2000. It is located in Novosibirsk. Our major activity is providing safety. About 100 employees work in our company. About 150 companies of the city use security services of the company. From first days of functioning we provide not only security services, but we carefully investigate the main principles and technologies of safety.

Our company has rather typical organization. Director makes major decisions in the company. The Finance Department, Human Resource Department and Security Service Department report to Director. Director defines the overall policy of the company. The Tax Service and the service of Militia supervise the activity of our company.

The Finance Department is responsible for marketing and sales in the company and operates the funds.

The Security Service Department supervises and coordinates the work of security guards.

My position in the company is Financial Director. I have some immediate subordinates: Marketing Department, Accounting Department, Development Department of the company.

This company is medium-sized, but it has a great share of the market. Buying new technical equipment and applying new technologies are two important factors for further development of security business.

Our company is rather young. So, it seeks new ways for development. The primary goals for further development are:

Ø the increase in quantity of customers;

Ø search for new ways to satisfy clients’ needs through increase of labour productivity of security guards;

Ø development of panel security service (systems of video observation and the control of access);

Ø creation of company brands in the sphere of protection and safety.

According to the above-mentioned problems, improvement of qualification of workers in “Guard” would provide new level of safety. But, in its turn, all this will demand greater investments.

(Let me introduce myself) My name is Alexander Volgin. I graduated from Kuzbass State Technical University. I specialized in engineering.

I work for Krasnovskaya mine. It is located in Siberia. It started in 1947. Krasnovskaya mine is a limited liability company. It is a medium-sized company. Now Krasnovskaya mine employs about 2000 workers and employees. Besides, there are some trade union representatives.

The company works in the field of coal-mining. Krasnovskaya mine produces coking coal. It is an expanding mine. The products of Krasnovskaya mine are highly competitive. So, its profits are constantly increasing.

The structure of Krasnovskaya mine is really very complicated. The company is headed by Director. He makes major decisions and determines the overall policy of the company.

There are several departments inside the company such as Production Department, Supply Department, Labour Safety Department, Delivery, Accounting, Personnel Department and others. The heads of these departments – Chief Accountant, Vice-Director for Production, Chief Engineer and others – report directly to the Director. Actually, Director and Chief Engineer are responsible for the day-to-day running of the company. Chief Engineer, in his turn, has his own Deputies for Safety, Loading and Mechanics. But they all have their immediate subordinates.

In 2001 I was appointed for the position of Deputy Manager of Production Control Department. My responsibilities include controlling engineering specifications and safety of mining operations as well as labour conditions. I often have to deal with stress situations and make the right decisions immediately. I am a good specialist in my field. Top managers of our company say that I am a diligent, hard-working and reliable person. My Department has a good reputation because it provides safe labour conditions.

As any company, Krasnovskaya mine has its own strong and weak points. First of all, our company applies modern technologies in coal-mining industry. Besides, it seeks for different ways of training highly-qualified specialists. These factors provide high level and rates of production.

The main problems of the mine are expensive cargo transportation, increasing energy consumption and high dependence on metal-working industry. In 2008 the company suffered a downturn because of the crisis in the world economy.

The future of Krasnovskaya mine is connected with applying hydraulic technologies. For successful development, the company plans to install up-to-date mining equipment. So, production of coal based on hydraulic technologies will be put into operation next year.

I hope that these innovations will contribute to success of Krasnovskaya mine.
