1. — What do you think of the canvas?

— Це прекрасна картина. Від неї неможливо відірвати очей.

— I fully agree with you here. It is very colorful and expressive.

— Так, ви праві. Вона наводить на роздуми. Ясно, що вона написана талановитим художником.

— By the way, what's the name of the artist?

— Ця картина Звєрєва, дуже талановитого художника. Я багато про нього

читав.

2. — Let's go to the exhibition together.

— Я не проти. Боюся, що нам буде важко дістати квитки.

— Do not worry. I've got two tickets. I hope you'll enjoy the exhibition.

— Будемо сподіватися. Я завжди хотів подивитися картини Кандинського та

Малевича.

— Same here. Frankly speaking I have never seen any canvases by those famous

artists.

— Це цілком природно. У минулому ці художники були популярні в нашій

країні.

— Якщо це вам зручно, я заїду за вами у пів на одинадцяту.

— It suits me ОК. I'll be waiting for you at 10.30.

— До четверга. До побачення.

— Thank you for inviting me. Good-bye.

3. — Я знаю, що вчора ви були у картинній галереї, ви отримали задоволення?

— Certainly. I enjoyed every «minute of my stay there.

— Що вам найбільше сподобалося?

— It is hard to say. There are so many pictures in the gallery that it is impossible to

answer your question.

— Я думаю, що в таку картинну галерею треба піти кілька разів. Ви згодні зі

мною?

— Of course. I am going to the gallery tomorrow. I want tо see the canvases of

Russian avant-garde art once more

— Можна до вас приєднатися?

— I'll be happy if you join me.

— Good morning, what can I do for you?

— I've come to look over your collection of books.

— We've got a rich collection of books: fiction, science fiction, detective stories,

dictionaries.

— Well, I would like to see what reference books you have on sale.

— The section you are interested in is on your left.

— I am going to buy two reference books: a hard cover and a paper back.

— Anything else?

— These are all books you lend out, am I right?

— Sure. They are part of our lending library collection. The section you are standing by contains fiction.

— I see. I want to take two books: one for myself and the her one for my son.

— Excuse me, how old is your son?

— He is fifteen years old. He is fond of science-fiction.

— I recommend you to take this book. It enjoys great popularity among teenagers.

— Thanks. You have been most helpful.

— What kind of books are you interested in?

— I like detective stories.

— They are over there. Have you chosen any book? Yes, I have. I’ll take this one.

— Oh, it has been on the best-seller list for more than two months.

— If it is so popular, why is it that the book is still available here?
